Our first workshop of 2024 covered a topic on Indirect Striking, which utilizes the art of psychological warfare. Many high-level, elite strikers are now saying that the next evolution to combat sports will be using fakes and feints. This workshop broke down the differences between fakes and feints, empowering attendees to outsmart and outmaneuver their opponents. The format and flow of the lesson took on an approach using templates that showcased the importance of body mechanics and high-volume repetition. The templates shared were strategic so the students could take them home and continue developing throughout their practice. In this short two-hour workshop, every student elevated their knowledge and game while boosting their confidence with the intricacies of Indirect Striking, allowing them to score safely on any opponent.
We are excited to showcase more Indirect Striking Programs and Workshops this year as bonus material to lift everyone’s abilities higher. Next up on our 2024 Workshop Program schedule is our Flexible Weapons Workshop on Saturday, February 17th. We created this curriculum in 2020 for a closed-door group. It will be the first time we’ve shared it outside this organization and a special treat for anyone wanting to learn more self-defense with Improvised and Flexible Weapons. The workshop is open to everyone with no previous skills needed.
