The Daily Battle Between What You Want Now and What You Want Most

As the year progresses, one battle many of us face is discipline, which makes this the perfect time to break down and reexamine how we can stay strong and on course. Looking back at our last topic on consistency, discipline is the one thing that shows up when motivation and energy toward our goals start to weaken. It is the one thing we can do consistently no matter how we feel. Best of all, it’s something we can plug in daily. It can be a small task like making our bed every day because small tasks like this can bookend other disciplines we want to instill in our lives. When we do, we build confidence in ourselves and what we want to accomplish, opening the floodgates to ideas for additional activities, exercises, or even full-on regimens that bleed over and improve every aspect of our lives. As Abraham Lincoln said, “Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” All we have to do is align our actions with our desired direction.

Stay tuned for more on this topic in the next few weeks, and if you are looking for help with your fitness or other goals, message us and let us help.
