The Bridge Between Who You Were and Who You’re Becoming Starts Here

In January, we focused on the theme of Transition, exploring how transformation begins with a conscious shift in mindset and habits. The timing coincided with the shift from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse in the Chinese New Year.
In the Chinese Zodiac, the Snake helps us shed, reflect, and prepare. The Horse urges us forward with strength and momentum. This year’s transition teaches us that before growth, we must shed old habits, attitudes, or fears. Letting go cuts anchors that hold us back and supercharges our momentum in no time. Lao Tzu said, “When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”
During our Week One on this topic, we discussed how in martial arts and in life, transition is a bridge between who we were and who we are becoming. It’s a path that gifts us a map between where we came from and the excitement of where we are going. Looking ahead this year, it’s exciting to see what more we can accomplish and how much better we can become in all areas of our lives.
Each month, we develop Character Development Topics that break growth into weekly, accessible ideas. These lessons are available on our YouTube Channel, Facebook, and Instagram.
